Summary Many stocks are going ex-dividend next week. Use the "buying dividend" strategy. High returns are possible with short-term holdings. Here is our latest update on the stock trading technique called "Buying Dividends," also commonly referred to as "Dividend Capture." This is the process of buying stocks before the ex-dividend date and selling the stock shortly after the ex-date at about the same price, yet being entitled to the dividend.... Read more

Stocks Going Ex-Dividend The Third Week Of June

Here is our latest update on the stock trading technique called "Buying Dividends," also commonly referred to as "Dividend Capture." This is the process of buying stocks before the ex-dividend date and selling the stock shortly after the ex-date at about the same price, yet still being entitled to the dividend This technique generally works only in bull markets, and can work in flat or choppy markets, but you need to avoid using it during bear markets. In order to be entitled... American Railcar Industries: Bargain Buying Opportunity For Capital And Dividend Growth

On many occasions I have written about the quality of long-term investments in railroad operators such as CSX Corp. (NYSE: CSX), Norfolk Southern Corp. (NYSE: NSC), and Union Pacific Corp. (NYSE: UNP) (here, here, and here). Companies in the railroad industry have wide moats, huge barriers to entry, and limited competition. While railcar makers may not have quite same competitive advantage of railroad operators, many of the same strengths are apparent in investments in rail car manufacturers... Read more

All Aboard The Dividend Train, Part 1

Investing In Railcar Dividend Stocks The railroad and railcar industry has a long rich history in North America. Though often thought of as a legacy industry, they are still very important to the modern economy. In fact, the rail network and the trains that operate on that network are more efficient and cost effective than truck transport. The rail industry also provides a general overview of economic health as carload traffic is directly proportional to economic activity. Of course, as... Read more

A Strong Dividend Growth Portfolio That Can Outperform By A Big Margin

In order to create a dividend stock portfolio that can outperform the market by a big margin, I have used the following screen. It is based on attempt to search for very profitable companies that pay rich dividends and that have raised their payouts at a high rate for the last three and five years. In many of my previous screens, the demand was to rebalance the portfolio every four weeks and replace the stocks that no longer comply with the screening requirement with other stocks that comply... Creating A Strong Dividend Growth Portfolio

It is based on attempt to search for profitable companies that pay rich dividends and that have raised their payouts at a high rate for the last three and five years. Good-Yielding Dividend Portfolio With Very Low Risk

I tried to create a good-yielding stock portfolio that can outperform the market by a big margin, but at the same time, would have a very low risk. The following screen shows such promise. I have searched for profitable companies that pay solid dividends with a very low payout ratio. Those stocks also would have to show very low debt. The screen's method that I use to build this portfolio requires all stocks to comply with all following demands: Price is greater than 1.00. Market cap is... Read more

Ranking Industrial Stocks By Dividend And Earnings Yield

In my previous posts (here and here), I decided to rank all the energy stocks and the technology stocks, which are traded in U.S. markets, by the sum of their dividend and earnings yield. In this article, I have done the same for all industrial stocks, which are included in the Russell 3000 index. I used the Portfolio123's powerful ranking system to grade all industrial stocks based on this theme. Only stocks with a market cap greater than $100 million and price greater than $1.00 were... Stock Market Profits

Schabacker has designed the present volume with an eye to getting the most in profit out of average market operation with the minimum of personal research, statistical background, and necessary attention. No attempt has been made to cover the entire field of market technique, particularly the more specialized and scientific fields. His attempt has been to present a purely simple rationalization of the entire scheme of market action and market activity, to boil the whole thing down to a common-sense and logical approach which even the inexpert and far-from-professional layman can easily understand and profitably apply.
