25 Top Dividend Stocks

Compare the dividend stocks in the MERVAL 25 index by dividend yield, payout ratio, Price/Earnings, earnings per share (EPS), dividend per share (DPS).

The Merval 25 index measures in pesos the value of a theoretical basket of 25 shares selected on the basis of liquidity criteria and is the most important index of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange. This price-weighted index is composed of a fixed nominal number of shares of 25 listed companies.
The shares comprised in the Merval 25 index change on a quarterly basis when this theoretical basked is reassessed on the basis of percentage participation in trading volumes and number of trades in the last six months.

Note to foreign investors: net dividend = declared dividend less 35% withholding tax.

Beware of stocks with an extremely high dividend yield! This can be caused by a stock price that is extremely low, compared to the trailing twelve months (ttm) dividend. Or it can be caused by a special, one-time only super dividend.

Madoff: Corruption, Deceit, and the Making of the World's Notorious Ponzi Scheme

In the first comprehensive account of this epic scandal, Peter Sander traces Madoff's rise from schoolboy to Wall Street trader, from money maker to money manager. His gripping narrative examines how Madoff built his brand by infiltrating influential circles, how the scheme came unraveled, and how Madoff - a Jew whose arrest has been called “fodder for the bigots” - ironically wreaked grievous damage to Jewish organizations in particular. Sandler asks: How did Madoff convince so many sophisticated investors to part with their fortunes without asking questions? How did he elude regulators for years? And how can we, as prudent investors and citizens, avoid such a debacle?
